This is where the original Hawaiian Grilled Chicken recipe, which is similar to Huli-Huli Chicken but has a completely different flavor, came from. You must serve the chicken with coconut rice and grilled pineapple.

Back in college, one of our friends, Jeff, became well-known for his Hawaiian-style grilled chicken, which he created using some advice from a Hawaiian friend.

I first tried this chicken at a large Kirkland (Costco’s brand) BBQ Jeff hosted one weekend, and I immediately fell in love.

The grilling season is upon us, and this is undoubtedly one of my favorite chicken dishes to serve a large group.

I like to marinate this overnight if I have the time so the flavors really get absorbed. Jeff’s recipe is for a ton of chicken so here is my downsized version. Don’t forget to make the coconut rice.
