Grilling Spaghetti Squash Recipe

During grilling season, if you’re looking for a quick and healthy side dish, try this Grilled Spaghetti Squash. It’s a low carb favorite that only needs a few ingredients and can be prepared without heating up the kitchen.

On our grill, I’m constantly looking for more convenient, wholesome side dishes that I can serve with our favorite burgers, pork chops, and other dishes.

We’ll be grilling this grilled spaghetti squash frequently throughout the summer.

The best thing about this recipe is that it only calls for two ingredients—four if you include the seasoning.

Instructions
  1. Heat grill to medium heat.
  2. Wash the squash. Slice the spaghetti squash in half horizontally. Spray with avocado oil or another high heat oil.
  3. Grill for 25-30 minutes. Cover with a lid if using a grill pan.
  4. Remove and cool for 5 minutes. Remove the flesh with a fork. Season with salt and pepper and enjoy!

Grilled spaghetti squash makes for a sweet and healthy side dish. Add in a tasty filling, and you've got a complete meal ready to feed the whole family. This is one vegetable that is as delicious as it is versatile.

Ingredients:

  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper

Instruction:

  1. Preheat. Preheat your grill for indirect or two-zone grilling (where one side has heat and one side doesn't) to 375 or 400 degrees F.
  2. Season the squash. Cut the ends off of the spaghetti squash and then cut in half lengthwise. Scrape out the seeds and pulp with a large spoon. Place each half of the squash cut side up on a metal baking sheet. Drizzle each half of the squash with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill the spaghetti squash. Place the baking sheet on the side of your grill with no direct heat and close the lid. Roast for 45-60 minutes (depending on how big your squash is. Check the squash with a fork for tenderness, the strands should pull apart easily when it is done.

Do you skin squash before grilling?

Because of its soft skin, summer squash does not require peeling and some varieties are too watery to grill. Summer squash should not be washed until you are ready to use it.

Should you salt squash before grilling?

Salting the zucchini draws out some of the moisture, giving it a firmer texture that won’t get mushy or have more of a steamed vegetable texture. Although salting the zucchini isn’t required, it can make it come out even more delicious.

How do u cook a spaghetti squash?
