The next best thing was to throw it on the grill, which my mom did, and he loved it, and we all lived happily ever after. Wanna join? Make this!

ALL dads love this stuff. Yes, it’s true. Ask your dad. I’m thinking you should probably make this for Father’s Day, too.

FAQ

How long does it take to grill onions on grill?

Brush both sides of the onion slices/wedges with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, a favorite seasoning blend, or freshly chopped herbs, and grill, covered with a foil pan over medium heat, for 15-20 minutes or until tender. Lightly spray or brush the grates with oil before heating up the grill to prevent sticking.

How do you cut onions for grilled onions?

Grill onions for 5 to 7 minutes on each side on a hot grill or on a nonstick griddle until they are soft and starting to caramelize.

How do you season an onion on the grill?

The onion should be rubbed vigorously along the raised rails, using pressure similar to that of a scrub brush. Do this several times, and you will be rewarded with a dark layer on the rails that will facilitate the release of grill residue and carbon. Heat up the grill and new GrillGrates to a scorching temperature.
