Grilled Paneer Recipe

Paneer, onion, and bell pepper cubes are marinated in yogurt and spices before being cooked to perfection in the oven.

Paneer tikka is typically grilled in a tandoor, but broiling in the oven yields the same delectable flavor!

My brothers, who love their non-vegetarian food otherwise, wouldn’t mind two servings of this paneer tikka because it is also one of those things that is universally loved.

Grilled Paneer 🔗

Grilled Paneer makes for the perfect appetizer, whether it is for simple dinners or even dinner parties for guests. Not only is Grilled Paneer a great, flavourful dish, but it is also filling as well.

So, to make the Grilled Paneer, firstly cut the paneer into the sizes and shapes that you are looking to cook and serve and drain the water out completely. In a separate mixing bowl, mix tomato ketchup, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt, and apply this marinade evenly on all the sides of the paneer pieces, and keep the marinated paneer aside for about half an hour.

For the finale, arrange the marinated pieces of paneer on a grill pan with oil and grill them on medium heat until the paneer assumes a golden-brown colour on both sides (cook for at least 7 minutes for each side). Your paneer is ready to be served. Arrange the pieces on a plate with some fresh salad and green chutney and enjoy!

FAQ

How do you grill paneer?

Serve your grilled paneer drizzled with extra sauce, or serve the extra sauce on the side for dipping, after preheating an indoor or outdoor grill to medium-low heat and skewering paneer on bamboo skewers that have been soaked in water.

How do you keep paneer from sticking to the grill?

I add some oil to the marinade, thoroughly pre-oil the grilling grates, and don’t touch the paneer once it’s on the grill until it starts to get a little charred in order to further prevent the paneer from sticking.

What is the best way to cook paneer?

The only rule to keep in mind is that paneer works best when it has some spiciness surrounding it. You can pan-fry or fry paneer in oil, marinate and then grill cubes of it on a skewer, as well as use it as a great, soft filling for samosas or other wraps, with veggies or just on its own.

Is paneer good for frying?

In contrast to fresh paneer, which can sometimes be too soft and crumbly, store-bought paneer is typically quite firm and therefore lends itself to cooking techniques like pan frying, grilling, and barbecue, much like halloumi cheese.
