Grilled Mushroom Recipe

Grilled mushrooms are delicious as an appetizer or a savory side dish with any entrΓ©e, and they’re incredibly simple to make!

Add these flavorful morsels to burgers, chicken breasts, or even a simple bowl of cauliflower rice. Grilled mushrooms that have been marinated in a balsamic vinaigrette always come out tender and flavorful.

A grilled veggie medley can be created using wedges of red onions or chunks of bell peppers, as well as standard white or brown mushrooms (also known as cremini), which are preferred because of their uniform size. Whole portobello mushrooms can be cooked directly on the grill and then sliced after cooking or served whole (they make great veggie burgers).

MARINADE: To give the mushrooms a savory flavor, combine balsamic vinegar, olive oil, fresh garlic, and a little lemon juice; if you prefer, you can also use soy sauce, tamari, or Worcestershire sauce in place of the vinegar.

Directions
  1. Thread mushrooms on four metal or soaked wooden skewers. Combine butter, dill and garlic salt; brush over mushrooms.
  2. Grill, covered, over medium-high heat until tender, 10-15 minutes, basting and turning every 5 minutes. Serve with grilled lemon wedges if desired.

FAQ

Can you grill a mushroom?

Sliced mushrooms or smaller mushrooms may also be grilled in foil packets with some olive oil and seasonings. Be gentle with mushrooms as they can break easily. Use a grilling basket for smaller mushrooms or those with tender caps that won’t thread easily.

Do we need to boil mushroom before grilling?

Fuller elaborated in a longer Instagram post: “First, boil the mushrooms. First, boil to perfection – you can keep adding water until this is achieved. Remember, you can’t overboil a mushroom because of its special cellular structure. They will let their own water out so don’t put too much water at once.

How long should mushroom be cooked?

Cook your mushrooms uncovered in a pan at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes, or until they are slightly browned, as mushrooms cook best in a quick, high-temperature roast.

Are grilled mushroom healthy?

In addition to being low in fat and calories, mushrooms also contain a significant amount of dietary fiber, protein, amino acids, vitamins (including B1, B2, B12, C, D, and E), and trace minerals.
