Grilled Sablefish or Black Cod has a smooth texture, is sweet and buttery, and is brushed with herb and garlic butter for an easy-to-prepare meal that you can feel good about serving your family.

I grew up in my family’s catfish restaurant where everything was deep fried, so of course I still love fried fish, but I have come to love grilled fish even more.

The entire family loved the Sablefish, also known as Black Cod, in our most recent box because of its incredible buttery flavor and velvety texture.

Directions
  1. Place the fillets on the grill, skin-side down and close the grill lid. Cook for about 3-4 minutes and then flip them over and cook for another 4 minutes. Make sure to not over cook.
  2. Once the fish is removed from the grill, drizzle the herb oil over the top of the fish.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 4 sablefish {black cod} filets
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Cucumber Tomato Salad for Serving

Instruction:

  1. Prepare a grill fire to 350° with oak or pecan for smoke flavor.
  2. Pat sablefish filets dry with paper towels.
  3. Prepare garlic butter by melting butter with minced garlic and cook for 3-5 minutes over medium heat, just until garlic starts to brown. Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
  4. Place sablefish skin side down over indirect fire.
  5. Brush with garlic butter and close the lid.
  6. Cook 12- 15 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145°. Fish will be flaky.
  7. Remove from grill and serve with cucumber tomato salad.
