Grilled Bruschetta Recipe

The weather was fantastic and we really wanted to grill something but didn’t have anything to cook, we realized that bread was the only thing that would work. We love the flavor of grilled bread and if we added the cheese and tomatoes on top, it would take the traditional bruschetta to a higher level. And it was delicious.

Brush bread slices with olive oil as desired; place onto grill. Grill until browned and grill marks are visible. Turn bread slices; top each bread slice with 1 piece cheese. Continue grilling until cheese begins to melt and bottom-side of bread has grill marks.

FAQ

How do you griddle bruschetta?

Grill the bread until it is toasted and has black lines on it. Remove the bread from the pan while it is still hot. While doing so, rub the crushed garlic gently on the bread. Drizzle the bread with olive oil. Sprinkle the bread with a little salt.

What is bruschetta topping made of?

Simply spooned over slices of toasted baguette or rustic bread that have been brushed with olive oil and topped with a mixture of chopped tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, basil, and garlic, this dish is ideal for a party because you can prepare a large quantity of the topping ahead of time in addition to toasting the baguette slices.

What is the difference between a bruschetta and a crostini?

This recipe uses slices of French bread, like a baguette, but a rustic Italian bread is more authentic. The best bread for bruschetta has a sturdy crust and is firm enough to hold the bruschetta topping. Choose a loaf of Italian bread, such as ciabatta, for a more traditional bruschetta.
