Cabbage On Grill Recipe

Here’s how to make delicious, healthy grilled cabbage wedges: Char them to perfection, then drizzle with a tart balsamic sauce.

The flavor of grilled cabbage is much sweeter than that of raw cabbage, and it comes out tender and charred. Drizzle it with tangy balsamic sauce, and it makes a tasty side dish for a grilled meal. Alex and I love roasted cabbage, so we figured we’d love grilled cabbage just as much. (We do.) We kept reaching for it on a grilled veggie platter, so we knew we’d have to shred it for the grill.

  1. Preheat grill for medium heat.
  2. Cut the cabbage into 8 wedges, and remove the core. Place all the wedges on a piece of aluminum foil large enough to wrap the cabbage. Season to taste with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Seal cabbage in the foil.
  3. Grill for 30 to 40 minutes on the preheated grill, until tender.

How do you cook cabbage so it’s not soggy?

With just a few basic ingredients, fried cabbage cooks up quickly and is a delicious side dish for breakfast or dinner. It can be made on a griddle or flat-top grill.

How long soak cabbage before cooking?

Add cabbage wedges to the steamer basket, cover, and steam for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cabbage is crisp-tender. Place the steamer basket inside a saucepan, fill the pan with water until it is just below the bottom of the basket, and bring water to a boil.

Why do you soak cabbage in water?

If you see any signs of worms or insects, which can occasionally be found in cabbage, soak the head in salt water or vinegar water for 15-20 minutes first. Remove the thick, fibrous outer leaves, cut the cabbage into pieces, and then wash it under running water.
