Blackened Chicken Recipe Grill

You’ll have perfectly seasoned grilled blackened chicken in just a few minutes, which can be used as a main dish or as a topping for tacos, nachos, sandwiches, or salads.

We love Cajun and Creole food more than anything around here, so it only makes sense that we would combine the two.

If you love the flavor of blackened seasoning, try this Blackened Corn, and then fire up that grill until it’s nice and hot. You can make your own homemade seasoning for blackened chicken with just a few ingredients that are probably already in your pantry.

How simple is that? Brush the chicken with a little oil, sprinkle it with the rub, and then quickly cook it on both sides.

FAQ

Is blackened chicken the same as grilled chicken?

In addition to not requiring an open flame and requiring a particular mixture of species and herbs, blackening differs from grilling in that it also produces a charred outer layer on food, whereas grilling typically results in charred stripes.

What is blackened chicken made of?

Place chicken on a grill rack that has been greased with cooking spray and place it over direct heat, skin side down, for about 3 minutes on each side. After that, move the chicken to the low-heat side of the grill and cover it; continue grilling for an additional 5 minutes, or until a thermometer reads 160° for white meat and 165° for dark meat.
